Save the Date design ideas.....

Wedding planning is really fun but its hard to narrow down style/color from all the inspiration out there! I am working on our wedding website and I have made good progress on the invites. I need to pick a color theme however for the bridesmaids dresses and a tartan to tie it altogether.

I really miss NYC. We have been considering moving back for some time now as California just isn't cutting it. I think in the summer/fall I will check out some possible job opportunities and look into apartments in Manhattan as opposed to Brooklyn. I miss the buzz and the fashion and the food and the people and.............

My Neighbours Garden!

I had to take these this morning while walking Lilly. My next door neighbour has the most beautiful flowers that are blossoming. Gardenias, that smell amazing and these Tulips. I love spring so much!!

I have been experimenting with some dye techniques this past couple of weeks and I am really getting into the Japanese technique Shibori. I am making some silk scarves to coincide with my woven ones for the online store.

Alffie died today!! nooooooo I made the water too cold, I think I stunned the poor guy and he didn't recover!!!

Floor Loom is Complete!

It took almost ten hours but we got there!! It was really satisfying to build my first floor loom from scratch, and I mean scratch! The numerous parts came and required sanding and oil treatment before assembly. The great part about the building process is I no longer feel intimidated by any part of the loom and can easily adjust, fix the mechanisms now with full understanding of how they work. I am so happy to finally start weaving!!

Moules Frites

I have been trying to get into seafood more lately as I have always felt I was missing out on a huge range of amazing food. Well I was right!! My hubby made me Moules Frites last night with a side of flatiron steak and it was amazing! I was so surprised to actually like the mussels who knows what I'll try next!

I am working on a collection for spring summer 2010 and have been creating collages like a maniac for over a week now. Some of the collages are direct references to the colors and patterns I plan to weave and create. I am really feeling orange at the moment!!
