Tiffany Roses and a Smoking Rabbit

The Whole Foods down the street from me has some great flowers. I found this pot of Tiffany Roses and had to buy it for my bedroom. The collage behind is one of ten I made that accompany textile work and will be featured on the new website.

Gemology 101

I recently started a new job in a field I have little knowledge and background in. I have always admired and enjoyed jewelry and now I find myself training in gemology and designing/selling custom pieces! I think this is a great opportunity to expand my creative realm and so far its been a fun fascinating experience. There is still much, much more to learn.......

Herb Planter

I dont have a garden so I make do with the sunny space in the kitchen to plant some herbs. I bought the planter at Longs (which sells everything!) and the basil, rosemary and sage seedlings were $1 each!

Bouchon

We celebrated our one year anniversary this week and headed to Napa for a gorgeous meal and romantic night at the Vintage Inn. The food at Bouchon was amazing! We were lucky the weather was so nice and so we sat outside enjoying our champagne......

One Year Anniversary!

Tomorrow, my hubby and I are celebrating our one year anniversary! I can't believe its been 365 days already! This is the dress I plan to wear to our dinner at Bouchon restaurant in Napa. I wanted to wear something bright and cheerful. The color orange has been attracting me recently and I keep seeing it everywhere. It is made from printed linen and I love the way it fits and feels. I am soo excited about the food and enjoying a great bottle (or two) of wine!

King and Queen of Hearts

I love these new 'Love' stamp designs issued this month from the USPS. I particularly like the fact the denomination is relatively hidden on the stamp and so the focus is the charming design. The stamp was designed by Derry Noyes and Jeanne Greco.
A book of 20 costs $8.80.

First Cushion Complete!

I finished my first woven cushion tonight! This one is very pale pink, cream and whites and is made from a variety of wool, silk, and cotton yarns. I have four more in this series waiting to be stuffed, each in a similar woven pattern but ranging in color schemes from black/grey, purple/orange, green/yellow and coral/cream hues. I need to take some really good pics of them and the other items asap for the new site.

Gimme Gimme Gimme

For some unknown reason I am really into 70's music right now and in particular ABBA!! My mum used to dance all the time to such cheese, but I say, if jump suits can make a come back why not this mecca of hip thrusting, feel good disco!!

With this Ring......

I found these wonderful custom ceramic ring bearers on etsy! They are by Palomas Nest. I was going to sew a traditional pillow but now I plan to have one of these made for the wedding!

Cartier Tiger

I read this great article in the NY times on Cartier, 'Then and Now'. One of the brooches caught my eye; can you guess which one is the real deal? Well yes, it may be obvious, the top left for sure. I did however come across some nice look a likes on eBay, fraction of the cost with plenty of bling, all be it fake!

Feeling Peachy

I bought some hand painted tencel yarn to weave with and love the ombre effect once woven. Peach is my new favorite color, partly as I plan to use it for my wedding flowers, but it also looks flattering on most skin colors.
